Smart Integrated IoT System

Managing 10 street lights is easy. Managing 10,000 across 40 countries is impossible without a proper IoT platform. NOMO's Zigbee + GPRS network turns a solar lighting fleet into a real-time observable, controllable asset.

  • Three-layer architecture. Client user end + single light controller + centralized controller. Scalable from one pole to 100,000.
  • Remote monitoring. Live performance data: battery SOC, panel output, runtime hours, fault status. Access via cloud dashboard, email, or SMS.
  • Smart task scheduling. Set on/off times, dimming levels, and response modes per pole or zone. Update entire fleets with a single command.
  • GPS geolocation. Every pole's exact location plotted on Google Maps. Enables lat/lon-based grouping and field navigation for maintenance crews.
  • Statistical curves. Export performance data as curves for engineering reports, SLA documentation, or energy audits.

5G / WLAN / WiMAX Ready

NOMO lights are engineered for the network they will operate in over the next 20 years. Multi-protocol support (4G, 3G, WLAN, Bluetooth, WiMAX) ensures compatibility with current and future telecom infrastructure worldwide.

  • Multi-standard support. Each pole communicates via the most reliable available protocol in its region. No stranded assets due to a single network sunset.
  • High speed, larger bandwidth. 5G brings connectivity speed that enables real-time video streaming from pole-mounted cameras, edge AI processing, and OTA firmware updates.
  • Expanded IoT capacity. More simultaneous device connections per cell tower. A dense city deployment does not saturate the network.
  • Backward compatible. 4G, 3G, WLAN, and Bluetooth fall-back modes ensure connectivity in regions where 5G rollout is still in progress.

New-Generation LiFePO4 Battery

The battery is the most critical and most failure-prone component in any solar lighting system. NOMO uses CATL-sourced LiFePO4 cells with a proprietary battery pack design and full BMS protection. Safe, stable, and long-lasting.

  • Superior cycle life. ~4,000 cycles versus ~1,500 for conventional lithium batteries. At one cycle per day, that is 10+ years of daily cycling without replacement.
  • Inherently safe chemistry. LiFePO4 does not explode or burn, even under fire exposure or short circuit. Stable cathode structure under continuous charge/discharge.
  • CATL electric core. CATL is the world's largest EV battery supplier. NOMO uses their cells, not commodity-grade alternatives.
  • Proprietary energy pack design. Prevents cell imbalance and protects against cascade failure from a single degraded cell.
  • Full BMS protection. Over-charge, over-discharge, over-temperature, short-circuit — BMS prevents all failure modes before they affect system performance.

4th-Generation MPPT Controller

NOMO engineering developed the 4th-generation controller from the ground up. MPPT tracking efficiency of 99.9% means nearly every electron generated by the solar panel is captured, converted, and stored. No competitor matches this figure.

Conventional solar cells degrade from corrosion and micro-cracks. NOMO mono crystalline panels are engineered to produce more energy in the same footprint every year for 25 years, not just the first season.

CREE LED Chip + T2 Patented Lens

The LED chip is the only light source in an all-in-one solar light. NOMO uses CREE (now Wolfspeed) outdoor-grade chips running at 5W per bead, delivering 250 lumens per watt. Combined with the T2 patented road lens, this is the highest-performance solar street light optical system on the market.

  • CREE outdoor-grade chips. Rated for continuous high-temperature operation. Not consumer-grade LEDs repurposed for outdoor use.
  • 250 LM/W rating. 70% brighter per watt than average commercial LEDs. Same battery, more light.
  • 5W per bead. High-power chips reduce the number of solder joints and driver complexity, improving system reliability.
  • T2 patented lens. NOMO's own optical design for road lighting. Tailored beam pattern maximizes road illumination uniformity (0.4+ uniformity ratio) to eliminate dark patches between poles.
  • 100,000-hour lifetime. At 10 hours per night, that is 27 years before the LED reaches 70% of original output. The light outlives the project.

LED Module Thermal Management

LED Module + Thermal Management

LEDs fail from heat, not from age. NOMO's module design uses high-thermal-conductivity aluminum substrate and a dedicated heat dissipation profile to keep LED junction temperature at near-ambient levels. This is what makes a 100,000-hour lifetime actually achievable in the field.

  • Tailored waterproof silicone rubber. Seals the LED module to IP66 without compressing the thermal pad, maintaining both waterproof integrity and heat transfer.
  • High thermal conductivity aluminum substrate. Custom-designed PCB with metal core. Heat from the LED die flows away faster than it is generated.
  • 16-LED parallel module design. If one bead fails, the other 15 continue operating. No complete fixture failure from a single point of LED degradation.
  • Self-developed aluminum heat dissipation profile. Extruded alloy body with maximum surface area. Keeps module temperature within 5°C of ambient even at full power in 40°C heat.
  • Temperature consistency across all LEDs. Identical thermal environment means identical lumen output and color temperature across the entire module throughout its life.

Controller Evolution

Three generations of improvement, each solving real field problems. The 4th-gen is not incremental — it is a fundamentally redesigned platform.

1st Gen

PWM Controller

Basic on/off switching. No maximum power tracking. Panel voltage forced to battery voltage — significant energy loss in non-optimal conditions. No communication capability.
